Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Haverford College
Coach Cory Walts as been Haverford College’s Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2007 and has worked with Philly Blast’s teams since 2015. He has worked in both the collegiate and professional ranks and has a wealth of experience and a strong background in the strength and conditioning field.
Since Walts’ arrival a number of Haverford teams have reached unprecednted heights, in both Centennial Conference and NCAA play. He has also coached five National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) All-Americans. Walts is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA as well as a NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach. In 2013, Walts was recognized as a finalist for the NSCA College Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year Award. He is also a USA Weightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach and an American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist.
Walts graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca (N.Y.) College in 2005 with a major in clinical exercise science and a general business minor. Following internships with the strength and conditioning departments at Cornell University and the Buffalo Bills, he earned his masters degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland in 2007. During his two years at College Park, Walts also worked with the Terps’ strength and conditioning department. He served as the strength and conditioning coach for men’s tennis and assisted with football, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s swimming.
