Blast High School teams (8th-11th grade) have mandatory fall team practices to prepare for October & November recruiting tournaments. Blast Middle School & Youth players (4th-7th grade) have access to optional clinics and weekend tournaments.
Over the winter, Blast High School Teams continue to have mandatory practices but shift focus from team concepts to individual skill development. Middle School & Youth players continue to have access to optional clinics. In addition to clinics, Blast Middle School & Youth teams have mandatory Sunday morning indoor box lacrosse training. Players are grouped by team and learn skill and team concepts associated with small-sided play. These indoor sessions are not open to the public and are used to develop Blast players and team chemistry in the off season.
During the spring season, all Blast high school teams are off and solely focused on competing for their high school team. We encourage high school players to tryout for National Tournament (NT) and represent the Philadelphia region over Memorial Day weekend before mandatory Philly Blast summer tournaments begin. Read more about NT here: https://paslax.org/national-teams/
Blast middle school and youth teams will have the opportunity to participate in multiple team practice and skill sessions in order to prepare for the summer season. At this time, team placements will be announced for grad years with more than one team. Dates for official team spring practices are TBD.
