Offseason Team Training

Fall

All Blast teams have mandatory fall team practices to prepare for October & November tournaments and to begin stickwork training. The number of practices vary by grad year, with the rising high school and high school teams practicing the most. Blast players also have access to additional optional clinics to supplement their team practice schedule (skill clinics for middle school & youth, position specific training clinics for high school)

Winter

Over the winter, Blast teams continue to have mandatory practices. Indoor team training sessions are not open to the public and are used to develop Blast players’ skills and team chemistry in the off season. By or before the end of the winter/early spring (February/March), all grad years that have two team will be split.

Spring

During the spring season, Blast high school teams scale back to allow for greater focus on competing for their high school team. We encourage high school players to tryout for National Tournament (NT) and represent the Philadelphia region over Memorial Day weekend before mandatory Philly Blast summer tournaments begin. Blast middle school and youth teams have multiple team practices and skill sessions in order to prepare for the summer season. Each grad year participates in scrimmages & “club-friendlies” against other programs as well.
