The Fall Round Up – October 24th-25th in Phoenixville, PA @ Technical College High School

Fall-ROUNDUP-rev

On Wednesday of last week, a team dropped out of The Fall Round Up tournament… just 2 days before games were scheduled to play! Blast was asked to fill in for this 2018/2019 team. Many of our players, from 2018 Blue, 18 Red, 2019 Blue and 19 White, stepped up to fill in and take advantage of the opportunity for more competition! The girls played extremely well together despite having never practiced or really ever played together as a “team.”  Blast 2018/19 finished second in their bracket (2-1) with wins against Xtreme & Ultimate CC and in their last game (playoff), they played an exciting game against Ultimate PA and won 16-12! Shout outs to Ted Boyle & Nicole Morley who served as the parent managers for the weekend!

Primetime Young Guns – October 25th in Bel Air, MD @ Cedar Lane Regional Park

Young_Guns_FFPhilly Blast entered two teams (2020 & 2021) into Primetime Young Guns Fall Fest, one of the best fall youth competitions in the MidAtlantic region! Some of the best clubs from MD and VA travel to play at PTYG, making it an extremely competitive and high quality tournament! Blast 2020 played against TLC Red (MD), Hero’s (MD), Pride (VA), and Diamonds (MD) and went 2-2 on the day! TLC Red and Hero’s proved to be the toughest, most skilled competition in the bracket. In the game against Diamonds, Kathryn T. helped lift Blast to a win with a buzzer beater 8 meter shot. In the game against Pride, Courtney N. & Olivia K. fired in a series of goals that pushed Blast to pull away in the second half. Special shout out to Paige C., our amazing goalie and defensive MVP for the tournament! Blast 2021 was also equally successful against Check-Her’s (MD), Richmond Strikers (VA), C2 Select (MD), and Volts. In the first morning (8am), Blast defeated Check-Her’s with an exciting come from behind win! Against the very talented (and tall!) Richmond Strikers, Blast fought hard but came up short. The game against C2 Select was extremely physical and exciting, with both teams scoring many goals back and forth. Finally, Blast ended the day with a runaway win against the Volt to finish out 2-2 overall. Shout outs to Sierra M., who was stellar in cage throughout the day and the entire midfield line who played strong & fiery in every game!
