Fall Faceoff – November 14th & 15th in Flemington, NJ at Diamond Nation

Four Blast teams competed at Fall Face-off and combined for 9-2-1, with 2017 Blue and 2019 Blue each contributing a perfect 3-0 record.

2017 Blue placed first in their bracket with the most wins (3), highest goals scored (26) and the lowest goals against (18). The 2017s played a tough schedule against South Jersey Select, SEPA, and Rev NE. Each game was a battle with every team playing tremendous defense. Blast allowed SJS and SEPA to score only 4 goals each, while totaling 15 goals against both teams. In the final game against Rev NE, the score was incredibly close for all 40 minutes; neither team ever up more than one goal! With just minutes left, Rev ripped a shot to even the score 10-10, but Carli Heimann answered back with only seconds left for the game winner to seal it for Blast 11-10!!

2019 Blue also placed first in their bracket, posting a perfect record by holding their opponents to less than 4 goals a game!! The first two games against T3 North Blue and South Jersey Devils were both competitive games, but Blast finished ahead each time by 3 goals (8-5 T3, 7-4 Devils). 2019 Blue headed into the last game of the day against Team Elevate 2019 Blue, the other undefeated team in bracket. Team Elevate had already posted 14-2 and 9-2 wins over Devils and T3, respectively, making them clearly the most challenging and talented opponent of the day. The game was scoreless for quite some time, demonstrating how evenly matched the teams were, but Blast posted the first goal (and the only goal in the first half!). Blast held possession patiently and worked the ball to find the best opportunities against Team Elevate’s strong goalie. Ultimately, Blast’s aggressive defense, fast midfield, and patient offense led the team to a thrilling 3-2 victory.
