Maggie Wilson (2017) commits to Dickinson College
Congratulations to Blast 2017 Blue and Mercy Mercy Academy defender, Maggie Wilson, on her verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Dickinson College!
“I chose Dickinson because every time I visited the campus, I loved the school more and more. The girls on the team were friendly and were people I could definitely see myself playing with! Coach Lowry and Coach Messersmith were also welcoming and encouraging on my visits to campus. Both of my parents went to Dickinson and my mom also played lacrosse there- I know I’ll love it as much as they did!”
Maggie has been a member of Philly Blast since its inaugural season in Summer 2011. When asked her favorite part of playing for Blast, she said, “I’ve played with most of the girls on my team for a few years and I love the friendships we’ve developed! Its also been great to see how much everyone has improved over the years.” Maggie will continue to compete alongside her Blast teammates as fellow 2017 Blue defender, Hannah Posencheg, will also be playing at Dickinson College.
Outside of lacrosse, Maggie plays Varsity Field Hockey for Merion Mercy Academy and is a very active member of her community. She is the Vice President of History Club, an HOBY Representative, a member of Varsity Mathletes, and an active volunteer for the Ministry Team. Maggie is also an extremely driven student and has earned academic recognition as a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Math Honor Society!
